You don’t need to be able to touch your toes or do 25 push-ups to plant your mat at Root Down Yoga.  Our classes are for EVERY BODY. Come as you are and know that practicing yoga is a lifelong process that will evolve as will your strength, flexibility and focus. Give yourself space to grow and enjoy the journey!

All classes are open for drop in, but we do recommend that you pre-register online to reserve your spot.

The majority of our classes are taught in a heated environment (95 degrees).  Non-heated options include Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Prenatal Yoga, and Guided Meditation.  Mat and towel rental are available for $2 each. Blocks, straps and other props are provided free of charge.

All Levels Vinyasa:

Vinyasa “Vin-yaah-sa” is a style of yoga with an emphasis on linking movement with breathing.  This is our signature class and it’s taught in a hot room (95 degrees with added humidity).  We will give you tools to make it as challenging or modified as you prefer- making it suitable for both advanced students or beginners.  Gain strength, flexibility and awareness of your body and mind.

ABC (Absolute Beginner Class):

Not sure where to start?  Here it is.  Get all your questions answered and
explore the fundamental poses & terminology offered in our All Vinyasa yoga classes.  We will give you the tools and experiences you need to build your confidence and kick start your practice.  This class is taught in a hot room (95 degrees). Class size is limited to 20 students.

Karma Class:

Our signature All Levels Vinyasa class at half the price! A rotation of Karma class teachers volunteer their time and  all the proceeds benefit a local charity each month! Drop in rate for this class is only $5!  This class is taught in a hot room (95 degrees).

Our non-heated class options include:

Yin Yoga:

Yin yoga, a non-heated class, is a form of Chinese yoga that is quiet and inwardly focused. The postures, mostly targeting the low back and hips, are all practiced on the floor with the support of props (bolsters, blankets, and blocks) and are held for 3 to 5 minutes allowing you to reach deep into the connective tissues and the joints. Many students find Yin Yoga to be the perfect complement and balance to their more active, yang practices (such as All Levels Vinyasa).

Yoga Nidra:

Yoga Nidra is a state of conscious deep rest. In this rejuvenating class, you will experience 20 minutes of gentle movement followed by 40 minutes of guided relaxation in final resting pose. The room will be gently warmed, please dress comfortably.

Guided Meditation:

The physical practice of yoga strengthens our physical body and makes us more flexible. The practice of meditation has the same benefits for our minds. Among its many benefits, meditation is proven to decrease anxiety, stress, depression and improve cognitive function. This class will begin with 45 minutes of mindful movement, followed by 30 minutes of various guided meditation practices. Each month we will explore different techniques. No experience necessary and all levels are welcome.  This class is not heated.

Prenatal Yoga:

Join other moms-to-be for a relaxing, yet invigorating yoga practice in a soothing, supportive environment. Movement will be geared towards strengthening and stretching your body to help keep you limber, tone your muscles and improve your balance and circulation, with little or no, impact on your joints. Feel what a difference yoga will make in how you breathe, relax, and adjust physically and mentally to the demands and wonders of pregnancy, labor, birth and Motherhood. Whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, come enjoy the company of other expectant mothers and experience the energy of yoga. Dress comfortably; the studio will be gently warmed.

Yoga Sprouts:

Root Down Yoga Studio’s Yoga Sprouts program is a fun, dynamic, yoga program designed for children of all abilities, ages 3-10 years. Yoga is an amazing way to exercise, challenge your physical and mental boundaries, and engage in personal growth for all people, especially children! Yoga Sprouts fosters a love of movement, health, and holistic living in the youngest yogis.  This class is not heated.

Parents please complete the Yoga Sprouts waiver and bring it to your child’s first class.  Please be sure to register your child under your CHILDS name which requires creating a unique login and password for them first.
